Good afternoon! September is Attendance Awareness Month. We just wanted to remind everyone of some of the district's attendance policies. When a student is absent from school, it is important for the student to turn in their doctor or parent excuse into the main office when they return. A student is allowed up to three parent excuses per semester. Each excuse can only count for one day absent, not multiple days. Thank you for taking care of this when your child is absent. When a student earns 5 unexcused absences, we are required to turn their name into the truancy office. Most of our students have done an outstanding job of being at school and on time daily so far this year. Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

Good afternoon...For any WPM parent/guardian that needs to have their child screened for scoliosis, please have your child pick up a permission form from the main office or nurse's office and return to Nurse Amanda by Friday, Sept 11th. Also, your child can pick up the flu vaccine form from either location if you need them to receive the flu vaccine at the end of the month. Thank you!

Good Afternoon Parents of 6th Graders: All WPM 6th grade students will be travelling by bus to Wallace State College on Tuesday, August 25th to kick off our American Character program for this school year. The buses will be leaving WPM at 11:30a.m. and should be back to WPM by 2:15p.m. Students will be learning about the American Character content that includes civic responsibility and character building in their 6th Grade History class this school year. Good afternoon! We have a few announcements that pertain to all students...1) Open House will be on Monday, August 10th for all grade levels from 3-6pm. There will be a 6th grade/New Student Orientation at 4pm in the gym. All students will be able to meet their teachers, receive their schedules, purchase lockers, etc.. Lockers may be purchased for $10..... 2) First day of school will be Tuesday, August 11th for A-K students and on Wednesday, August 12th for L-Z students. 3) Powerschool Registration must be completed for every student before receiving a schedule. An email was sent from "Powerschool Enrollment" again this afternoon to everyone that has not completed this yet. Check your spam if you cannot locate the email. As of now, about 80% of students have been registered. Thank you for taking care of this! 4)Every incoming 6th grade student that has already turned 11 years old must have an up-to-date Tdap immunization form on file before receiving a schedule. These can be received at the family doctor, most pharmacies, or an urgent care. We look forward to seeing our students soon and having a great school year!

Good afternoon…Thank you parents for an outstanding 25-26 school year. Report Cards will be available to be picked up at the school next week (Tues.-Fri.) between 8am-12pm or you can view them online on the PowerSchool Home Portal. Mrs. Nunnelley will be at school next week also for anyone needing to do an enrollment/withdrawal. We are proud of the efforts and achievements of our students from this past year and hope everyone can enjoy their summer break!

The "Rook for Randy" Tournament will be tomorrow starting at 5pm in the WPM gym. The tournament is in memory of Randy Jones. All proceeds from the event will go toward funding a scholarship in Randy's memory. The cost is $40 per team. There will be door prizes and a silent auction. Everyone is welcome to attend. Thank you!

Good evening... WPM Dance tickets will be sold again tomorrow morning before school, but can also be purchased at the door tomorrow night. The dance will be from 7-9pm and tickets are $10. There will be regular concessions plus pizza available to purchase at the dance. An assortment of glow items will be sold for $1 - $5.
Tomorrow there will be red, white and blue bracelets and face tattoos for $1 each. Students can buy these before school or during break to show their support at the America’s 250th pep rally.

*WP Community Day will be tomorrow from 10am-12pm. All community members are welcome to attend!
*The WPM Dance will be tomorrow night from 7-9pm in the MS gym. Admission will be $10. Students can save time at the gate by pre-purchasing tickets tomorrow at school from Mrs. Oldacre. Students need to be within school dress code for the dance, keep in mind this is not a formal dance.
